Prometheus

In Greek Mythology, Prometheus is a Titan and the brother of Atlas and Epimetheus. Prometheus and Epimetheus were entrusted with the job of "designing" all of the animals. Epimetheus made animals with claws and armor, and countless other tools for survival. Prometheus decided to create one perfect being, and thus he created mankind. Prometheus realized that humans, with soft skin and no apparatus for battle like Epimetheus' creations, needed a tool that would place them above the rest of the animals, and closer to the divine. He stole fire from Zeus and gave it to the humans. As a punishment, Prometheus was bound to a rock in the Caucasus where every day an eagle would eat his liver, which would regrow by night.
