Poem- Ice bird

The iceberg
Floating amidst the frozen mountains
Sits, unstirred
Immune to wind
Immune to time

The bird
Iced over by a thousand years
Sleeps, trapped inside this beast
Storing his energy

His icy wings
Spreading through the ice
Massive
Their strong feathers lie
Untouched by the crisp frost that surrounds them

His eyes open
Awoken from peace
His body glows
His shining blue pierces through deep waters

He closes his eyes
And with all of his mind
All of his body
Prepared by two thousand years
He focuses

His feathers quiver
His chest rises
His whole body rests
Not even his heart stirs

And with one everlasting shriek
His eyes pointed towards the stars
The great ice is defeated
Shattered into snow
It is consumed by the raging waters

His wings rise
And he flies up into the skies
Dancing with the lights
That color the arctic sky

He flies on
His strong body still
Master of the skies
He glides for ever
